Working with Gender Diversity
CPD day in PLYMOUTH (delivered by a STUDIO one practitioner)
18th January 2020 10am-4pm
If you think you’ll be unlikely to work with someone with a Transgender person, you need this CPD day!
Therapists can be concerned when a client discloses a gender diversity (the client themselves or a family member), ‘I’m not sure I know enough about this subject’, ‘I don’t want to get this wrong’, ‘I don’t think I have the latest information’, and even ‘I just don’t get it’ are familiar worries.
This CPD day looks to equip you with the confidence that you have enough knowledge and understanding to support your client well and with an affirmative approach.
We explore the varied identities and, importantly in this current climate, the myths that surround TRANSGENDER, NON-BINARY and GENDER FLUID people and their experiences (both adults and young people).
We consider the fast-paced recent changes in the law, language, and the medical/psychological services provision in the gender diversity arena
Delivered in an open, safe, non-judgmental space by Tina Hill-Art Reg MBACP.
Tina has worked with these client groups for many years, both in private practice and within the leading Southwest based LGBT+ support charity The Intercom Trust, and delivers training on working with people with diverse identities across many settings.
